Yellowing Leaves

I have multiple plants in my garden where the leaves are turning yellow. I have attached pictures as well.

I have recently build a new garden. Unfortunately my yard is all sand so I topped it off with 6 inches of top soil. The top soil does contain organic matter. The soil also absorbs the water fantastic and there is never standing water in the garden. I have supplemented the soil with blood meal and slow release miracle grow pellets. It also has sprinklers build into the garden.

It is watered once a day at dawn for 5 minutes. This is enough to have the water fully penetrate the soil. I thought I was over watering so I turned the sprinklers off for a week. The soil is still fairly moist a inch down. It has been over a week and the problem has not been remedied. Any thoughts and input I would appreciate.

The past 2 years have worked very well and the only change is the garden location and different soil.

I think you are over watering. I think you may have a problem with the soil as well. It is better to add organic matter and incorporate it into the soil to make a homogeneous mix. When you layer different types of material water does not diffuse evenly. The sand will drain quickly but you have essentially mud on top that dries at a different rate than the sand. Even better, get a soil test to make sure you add the right amounts and kinds of fertilizer and amendments. Lastly instead of trying to change the nature of your soil, find plants that are better adapted to it. Either that or grow the less adaptable plants in containers or a raised bed.

It matters what was in the "topsoil", it may not have been as good as you think. It depends on where it was sourced and what was put on that soil before. Some topsoil is really sub soil, and sometimes topsoil can have contaminants you can't see and won't find out about until you try to grow things in it.
