I am finding these brown shell-like structures stuck on various parts of my pool fence. Some are on the edges of the netting and others are wrapped around the fence poles. They look like shells and are arranged like overlapping scales like you would find on a fish. I did find a bug hanging around some of these shells, but I don’t know if this bug is connected to these shells or it just happens to be there by chance. What are these?
