I have some ficus and snow bush that I cut back to trunks last year wanting lower denser growth, now new small branches (branchlets?) are growing and I wonder if I cut them back just above a leaf will additional ones grow or will it just stay cut with no new little ones branching from there? Here is a photo from last year, there's more new growth now but these are what I mean.)
