An olive green bee-like insect with a crab-like pincer - found alive but later died - on the concrete path beside my back lawn in the morning of 30th December 2021.
CLOSED: Insect ID Please
It's a nymph of a cicada - Hemiptera/Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadidae - see https://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/127445437/theyll-be-out-and-theyll-be-loud-next-wave-of-cicadas-expected-to-emerge-late-january
Thank you!
Maybe more likely Chorus Cicada (Amphipsalta zelandica) - https://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/showimage/14289/
