Found behind my garage refrigerator.
CLOSED: Spider identification
This is a cobweb/comb-footed spider (family Theridiidae) in the genus Steatoda; most likely S. grossa. Commonly called cupboard spiders or false widow spiders, they can deliver a painful but not dangerous bite if handled carelessly. See https://usaspiders.com/steatoda-grossa-false-widow-spider/ for more information, bearing in mind that this species shows quite a bit of individual variation in coloration, from nearly uniform dark/purplish brown to pale brown with numerous white/cream markings.
