I'm looking for more information about Persian lilacs. The little I've been able to find seems to indicate that they tend to be smaller in stature than standard lilacs, but without the very small florets of the common varieties of dwarf lilacs. Does anyone out there have direct experience with this type of shrub? TIA for any info.

AND - with the Arnold Arboretum's collection right there in Boston, you can't be any closer to an epicenter of Lilac knowledge. Except maybe in Rochester...or one of the big Canadian collections, like the Royal Botanic Gardens.
