Apparently my wife was bit while it was hidden under the bathrobe.
Please help ID this spider (California)
Cannot identify from this ventral aspect, but does not appear to be anything dangerous. The spinnerets look like those of a ground spider (Gnaphosidae). Thanks for the quick reply. No I don't think it was close to the image you mentioned, but when I googled Gnaphosidae, some of the images matches what I saw, so looks like it's likely a ground spider.
