Found this today, trapped in a plastic bin that had cobweb. Released and put it on water for taking photos as it was very active It was about half an inch long, its 'head/face' was shining like copper metal. Which one is this? I'm amazed finding new ones even after 10+ years of spending time in the garden!!
Small beetle with shiny \'face\'.
It's a ground beetle (family Carabidae); this is a huge family containing thousands of species. It is unlikely that you will find an exact match for your specimen without devoting a lot of time for searching images.
Indeed Ed, there would be endless number of them. The general name would suffice anyway. Thanks again.
