The forecast here in NY is for several days of over 80 degrees. Do tender, newly planted seedlings need protection from the heat? If so, can I use ag-19 row cover I bought for frost protection as shade cloth over hoops and with sides open, or do I need to get actual shade cloth?
Question about too much sun and shading
They should be fine if not allowed to dry out. Water early if soil surface is dry so leaves do not sunburn.
BTW, ag-19 is generally used for insect control with negligible insulating or sun screening ability...about four to six degrees and 10%-15% max. Doubling does not double insulation or screening results either.
