My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home and after a septic tank inspection it was discovered that the roots from a crape myrtle tree is causing sludge in the septic tank. The tree was planted next to the septic tank. The owners have agreed to pay for the repair. Our issue is that it may happen again down the road. We would like to move the tree but neither of us has a green thumb. Can someone share if moving the tree is expensive and is this something a nearby nursery can handle for a reasonable price? We are not sure of the tree's age but the home was built in 1997. Any advice that anyone with experience with this type of tree can share would be appreciated.
