It's a pupa of a moth, either in the family Sphingidae (sphinx/hawk/hummingbird moths) or Noctuidae (owlet moths). If more than 35 mm long, it would almost certainly be a sphingid.

I can't believe what a creature. And it's moving! I've put it back in the garden in sheltered place with soft soil if it wants to go into soil again.
It's probably Sphinx ligustri because I ve seen it this year.
