Any info on this insect is greatly appreciated, we came across it tonight in Northern California.

It's a camel/cave cricket (family Rhaphidophoridae) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhaphidophoridae
They sometimes are called 'sprickets' because of an imagined resemblance to a cross between spiders and crickets.
