I'm not sure if it's an ant, a wasp, a beetle?? Not a very good photo as it was moving around so quickly. I've lightened it up as that made it a bit clearer. Body was black, legs reddish brown and about 2cm long. Seen in Dorset a couple of days ago.

My best guess is that it's an ichneumon wasp in the subfamily Pimplinae - see https://diptera.info/forum/attachments/natura-00060-227.jpg for an example.
