I found this bug crawling in my dog's hair. Since it was on my dog, I thought it might be a flea, but it does not appear to resemble a flea (feel free to contradict me). So now I'm worried it might be something else of concern.
It is brown colored and about 2-3mm in length. In the photos, there is an American Quarter for size reference. It was found in Southern California.
Sorry about the quality of the photos, the bug is very small and I don't have a macro lens. These were taken with a 50mm lens and cropped.
CLOSED: Tiny bug found on dog
No need to worry - it appears to be a tiny plant bug, possibly in the family Miridae. Just an accidental 'hitchhiker.'
Thank you.
