This morning I noticed this bug as red colour, like a car reflector. I tried to touch the tiny twig and this fell down to save itself. I tried to locate it down in the undergrowth. Luckily it did show itself.... now the red was not showing. More green now! Could manage only 2 photos before it flew off. What it this please?
I also have a similar dead beetle's wings... fluorescent green, kept in a box.
CLOSED: Metallic beetle.
It's a flower chafer (subfamily Cetoninae); it looks like Heterorrhina elegans. Although usually mostly green in colour, this species is highly variable. See https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12761281 for an example.
Thanks Flap. Each time you score 10-10! Wow! This must have been an easy one for you.
