About One Centimeter
Could it be a Brown Recluse? here's a link from Orkin, but even their images arent' all that great https://www.orkin.com/other/spiders/brown-recluse-spiders/image-gallery You can do a search for Brown Recluse on your browser & choose "images". Ive been bitten by one. I never felt or noticed the bite, but I did see the spider on my sock earlier in the day & brushed it off. Later that night, a burning sensation and intense itching was near the area the spider was. Blisters formed. The lower section of my leg came over with red blotches. The blistered area felt like a bad burn, as if it had touched a hot iron. There is a scar there now and it was over a year ago. The flesh has a very faint "sunken" appearance about the size of a dime. I read that I was very lucky I was not bitten in a fleshy area, as opposed to the bony part of my ankle. The bites can become very dangerous because necrosis sets in the deadened areas of the bite, and sepsis may form. I chose not to share my photos here- but I kept pictures of my leg.
Thank you analogue. This spider is in Colombia and I don't the range of the recluse reaches this far south. I have had the displeasure of a recluse bite in the US.
The eye pattern resembles that of spiders in the family Anyphaenidae (ghost spiders), but I would like to do a little more digging on this one a bit later.
Thank you very much.
