I know this is a tree question, so if anyone can recommend a better place to seek an answer, please do.
I bought a persimmon tree a couple years ago, when it was about 4 feet tall, planted it and protected it from deer with small fence circling it. Removed fence today; tree now 6 - 7 feet. Branches had been growing through the fence. The trunk has several big bends in it, and the tree looks like it might be blown down in a strong wind, or will just droop badly forever. I fear I kept it staked (far) too long. See picture. If I should stake it -- the present configuration is just temporary -- how, exactly? Any advice appreciated.
staked a persimmon tree for too long?
Here's a picture.
How frustrating for you that no photo is uploading. Is there a problem you can identify? Maybe 1 of us can help you successfully upload one.
