I have a beautiful big rhubarb that the leaves are turning bright red and yesterday when I was pulling stalks for a recipe I found the middle was mushy and full of pillbugs .... I got on Google and found out it's a bacteria infection sorta thing advising to remove the plant .... we've got most all dug out other than the very deepest roots....can I replant something in the soil there ? does the soil need to be replaced ? or sterilized in some way ? I'm just so sad to lose the plant after all the years I've had it ... I don't know what would've prevented this .... any help would be appreciated, please ....Deb
