Im looking for opinions on peoples favorite groups of apple trees. I would like to get 3 or 4 this year. They would be the only apple trees on the property so they would need to be good pollinators for eachother. Also would like to have variety in harvest times. Of course the actual apple is the most important part. Anyones experience or opinion is appreciated. Pls no exotic types i wont be able to find for sale. Btw i live in CT

We have nurseries here where reputable breeders have been honing varieties best suited to our climate for many years. I Googled and you also have nurseries specializing in varieties best suited to your clime. Go with what works best closest to home. The best apples I ever had were somewhere near Deerfield, MA., I think. Now I need to look that up. Will report back.
It's Clarkdale farms. I don't know if they sell trees but they certainly have a huge selection of varieties for you to decide regarding your garden. Are you near there?
