CLOSED: New Fly For Me
This appears to be a flower/hover fly in the family Syrphidae, but I would like to see the wing veins in order to be absolutely certain. When photographing flies for i.d.purposes, try to get at least one image from directly overhead. See https://www.flickr.com/photos/artour_a/42291473510 for a specimen very similar to yours.

Thank you I will remember that. The example you found does indeed look like my file. I just didn't get a very good picture before it flew. Thanks very much.
