For the first time in the garden I noticed this happening. There are these cicadas here, but not many in my garden. But in the parks and bigger gardens they abound. There was this something unusual on the tip of a drying leaf of the Aloe vera. I went closer and found this out. Just wanted to ask if this particular cicada could be identified.... I know there are several kinds. I've made collages of the pictures.
Thanks. All of you be safe.

Reliable identification may not be possible until its full coloration is visible. Check out this site: https://www.indiancicadas.org/
Ok Flap, thanks. That's gone by next morning. Will see if I can spot it in the tree from where I hear its chirp.
This one is in the genus Platypleura; it looks like P. capitata - see https://www.cicadamania.com/cicadas/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Cicada-Found-Near-Mysore_-India-by-Raghu-Ananth-on-tree.jpg
You are right, as usual! Amazing, the right sites that land up with you!! Exact. And in the same city as I live!
