Hello and thank you for your help. I thought it looked like a preying mantis ootheca but I don’t see any of those bugs around my house normally. I did buy some maybe 7 years ago, but I thought they all left, got eaten, or died off. Just wondering if I should get rid of them now or let them hatch.
It is a mantid ootheca; looks like that of a native Stagmomantis sp. - see https://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/showimage/5203/ for an example.
