Hello, I recently saw a small, dark spider with distinctive white spots along its back. I am curious as to what kind of spider it may be.
Any answers will be greatly appreciated :)
CLOSED: Small, dark spider with white markings
This is a comb-footed/cobweb spider (family Theridiidae); it might be an immature Steatoda capensis, an introduced species known as a false widow or false katipo spider - see http://www.terrain.net.nz/friends-of-te-henui-group/spiders/false-katipo-spider.html
Thank you so much! Incredibly helpful :)
