Help identifying problem with Orchid...

Hi,

I will be repotting very soon however I have noticed white like-fluff in the potting mix and at surface level. What is this and how do I remove it without harming the orchid?

Any and all care tips welcome. The orchid has lost its flowers as well which I expected. Have I overwatered? Is this mould? Help!
