Hello I need help identify the tree in the picture. I am sure it is a Metrosideros, as we have many Metrosideros excelsa on the islands. But this one is not a M. excelsa, the leaves are rounder and less leathery, flowering takes place after summer while M. excelsa flowers in the beginning of summer. Any help is very much appreciated
Picture was taken in the Azores, about 38° North latitude, with a tepid, oceanic, subtropical climate, with mild annual oscillations.
