I think it is a moth caterpillar due to its considerable size. I cannot, however, identify which butterfly it refers to.

Big caterpillar
It appears to be in the family Noctuidae, which has very many species in Italy. You might try searching the images at https://www.leps.it/
From the research done following your directions, it seems to me that it may be Helicoverpa armigera.
