It held it legs out much like a crab spider, but I've never seen one this large. Its legspan was easily an inch, possibly more.
Sorry, the photos aren't very good. I don't have a good camera, and I was uneasy about getting too close to it.

It is indeed a crab spider and harmless to humans.
