I like those doubles....beautiful pinks.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

okay, I have to ask really dumb question. What is f. plena????

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Wow! Those double pinks are gorgeous.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

flora pleno = with double flower. I think plena is the masculine form of the word.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

thanks!! I noticed it was only in the doubles like Angel Dream. My language skills barely cover English:)

I'm drooling as bad as my Boxer, Oscar. Help!

Those pinks sure are pretty....maybe one day.

Thanks for the link Poppysue :) I added it to my favorites. You know, I have also Gommer, Valleygrow, Kirchner, Le Bon Jardnier, Monikas site and Hodnik`s, that also have great pictures and some of them has brugs lists so long, that I think it will take a lifetime (or to be a lotto millionare) to buy all, but I am crazy about the pictures :)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Wonder if they sell to the states? I would love to have a few of those doubles.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I didn't know there were that many double pinks... Do ya'll prefer the doubles or is just because they're rare and hard to get?

FSH, TX

PoppySue,
I must confess much of it has to do with the fact that I have met some of the hybridizers who have been attempting to get a descent pink double. One has to respect the hardwork that goes into creating a double pink from scratch. Jumping onto another hybridizers back and using their pink double to create another pink double is a much easier thing to do. It was not to long ago that we only had white doubles. I have personally been intimidated from such discourse and have not tried to create a double in color until recently. I am using Rosabell, Butterfly, and Ecuador pink as pollen donors to my Candida species and I am thinking of doing the same to my HG that is loaded with blooms. Crossing those together...or perhaps using the Knightii or all 3 and going the slow route. Of course if I had a double pink I would simply cross these seedlings to the Double pink as I prefer smaller flowers.

Thank you PoppySue, another one to add to my favourites. Those are to die for. Annie

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Tonny, why don't you get some of the double pinks. We could buy from you and even afford the extra inspection costs'if several of us pooled our orders.I am guessing that one phyto certificate would get them into the States and to one address. We could figure out the distribution from there.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

They don't sell to the US, I wrote and asked. :(

I drool with you all and Oscar.

gone2seed, I have stopped to ship to the US as a company, but I still can do it in private. I will write and inquire about shipping prices and additional aquirements.

bbl. on this.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Tonny, i think everyone on this forum is dying for a double pink, i am sure we can make it worth your while.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

That's for sure Arlene. I'd love to get my hands on one.

I see 5-6 double (more or less) pink. Is a particular one or plain all? I mail immediatedly, when I know specific, what and how much. I don`t want to earn on this, just that we shares cuttins and exspences. What do you say?

If I am not gone to bed by then. Can I have the spokesman, please :)

Tonny, I'd be happy to help in any way. I personally like the Rosalena. It's not the darkest, but that Super Rose seems a little brown to me, and could cross over to orange, whatcha think? I'd love to know which one Eric likes the most.

oh, and as i told you the other day, I want two, I have a favor to pay back.

Rosalena is noted, tiG. Regarding the other brug you asked to the other day I am still waiting for answering mail from Kirchner. I have hoped to say some more of it today.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I love the Rosalena and the Super Rose.

I edited my posts because I got something entirely wrong.

okay, and now im confused. what mistake did you make and how are you unfair?
to be perfectly honest, i was just being silly (wired on caffeine).
what i was implying is that everyone is after a double pink. when youre given a choice, how do you decide. thats all.
im on a quest to develop the first amerian made double pink, it make take me years, but hey, someone has to be the first, right????

Snowhermit, I would give all my gold not to have posted, what I just did. I mis percieved something I read. If there aren`t a forum here around for tired, overworking men seeing all kind of horrors, I think that it is time I start one ;0)

Tonny, Since we can't get these ourselves you are doing us a huge favor if you can get them for us. It is only fair that we share the costs. It should not come out of your pocket for something that we asked you to get.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Tonny, this or the other, I'd want two of either/both. Still waiting to know what Eric likes the most. And of course we pay! I don't know what went on after I went to bed, but from Snow's response, I just want to agree!!

Goodmorning all brugfriends.

This morning I wrote to inquire of postage costs on the new German beauties and also, if certificate is required for shipping to Denmark. In contrary to whan I now got comfirmed twice from my plant health office, Kirchner properly stillinsist it is and it is a short while, since I heard from them.I hope the new hybridizer sees it otherwise.

I put our initial inquiry like this:

Herbert und Dorothea Langenberg,

I simply fell in love with some of your double pink Brugmansias. Are you selling them as plants, cuttings or seeds. What will be the price to have some send to my address in Denmark (sendencosten)? Since I am in Denmark and you are in Germany, my plant health office informed me, that we don`t need to accompany the plants/ cuttings with a phys. certificate.

By the way, are the hybrids your makings? If it is I just wanted to tell you, that they are difficult to make and that if you made them right from the schratch it is an admirable woork.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Regards
Tonny Surrow-Hansen

Tonny
I will share the costs too. I will buy one of what ever Eric wants and another for me. If we all split the shipping and phyto certificate cost, it won't be too much. If we each get a different one, then there would be lots to share later on.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Tonny, LOL. If they start a forum for tired overworked men I hope they include women too. That's a nice letter you sent to the Brug Co.. We'll all keep our fingers crossed that they get back to you.

Calalily, what a splendid idea to buy different and share later on. Then we could have almost any of them and also a lot for all of us to look forward too. It would be like Christmasss right before spring. I haven`t had any response of the mail by now, but I will try and see, if the website says something about shipping in the winter period. Moment..
