Please identify this plant with tubular roots
This is false indigo, also called Baptisia. It's difficult to move because it has a long tap root. It grows best in full sun, well-drained soil. The native variety, I can't tell because the leaves are the same as sub-species, has blue flowers that become dark seed pods that are shaped a bit like large beans with a central, vertical seam. Lovely flower, hardy plant.
