What kind of bug is this??

These are ALL OVER our backyard and I wanted to know what they are, and if they bite/sting. I’m very afraid of them. They look almost like little flying ants or wasps. All responses are appreciated!! Thanks!

These will neither bite nor sting as they are picture-winged flies (family Ulidiidae). The species is Delphinia picta, see https://www.cirrusimage.com/flies_delphinia_picta/
