I've seen something similar in the US but can't remember what they're called.

How big is it? It resembles a cicada, but I want to do a bit more looking...
That's what I was trying to think of. About 4 or 5 cm long.
According to this article (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00222931003760046), at least 63 species of cicadas have been reported from Colombia. There are species in the genera Durangona and Zammara that bear a superficial resemblance to your specimen.
Thank you for doing that investigation. I will look at Dragon and Zammara.
