My heuchera flower bed is three years old. It's located on the east side of the house getting full morning sun and shade in the afternoon. The first year, every plant made it to the end of the summer looking happy and healthy. Last summer we had a horrible heat wave and everything curled up and nearly burned to a crisp. This year, we had a couple of rogue high temp days in early spring and one of the five heuchera plants started experiencing leaf curl. Now that same plant is getting worse while the others still look very healthy.
So since all the others are experiencing the same conditions, what could be causing the leaf curl? I don't see any signs of pests or fungus, despite the incredibly wet spring we had. And we're currently experiencing 90 degree temps. Every plant is doing fine except the one.
Should I just get rid of that plant and replace it with another?
Heuchera Leaf Curl
Weird! If it bothers you, pull it out. While you're at it, your little garden is a bit crowded, and much too close to the lattice. This fall or next spring, give it some breathing room.
