Just wondering, I live in Sth East Queensland. Brisbane region. The land is 1 acre, Sandy loam with a North East- Northerly aspect with a very slight slope..probably 10 to 12 degrees.
I know the property well, it's at Greenbank, belonged to my parents and I bought from the family after Dad passed. It has its own bore water which has a pH of 6.3 although the phosphate level is 329. Had a test done today at a pool place.
My Mum and Dad, although avid gardeners whom I learned much growing up, did not, I think, make the best use of the position and land. Being a licenced builder, and thinking of ways to make best use of a beautiful block other than mowing the cooch, I thought growing some natives, as well as carnations would be a bit of a return for work put in, rather than sitting on a ride-on. I've tested the topsoil here as well, it has a pH of 6.8 or s
The bore Mum and Dad had put down about 25 years ago, about 150 ft..I tested it today through a pool place. I'm looking for a bit of advice from those in the know if I need to do anything or hints as for growing some healthy flowering plants.
Thank you
Gary.
