Another stumper. When I first looked at your image, I was reasonably sure that it would turn out to be in the subfamily Arctiinae (Erebidae), but the more I looked, the less certain I became. I'll do more digging when I find the time.

Thank you Flap. It took off be fore I could get better photos. I had hoped to get an image with wings closed but it didn't cooperate.
