This has appeared suddenly and recently in our home. I'm pretty sure it is a spined oak borer (Elaphidion)l. We have a huge oak in our yard, I guess we need to call our arborist for help!!

I cannot get your image to enlarge, so I cannot confirm your identification. Of it is indeed a spined oak borer, there is no need for concern as larvae of this species feeds only on dead trees or on the dead branches of living trees.
