Tiny red bugs

Hi all I have tiny red bugs all over my vegetables and flowers as well as the patio furniture. If you smash them they leave a red smudge.
My concern is if I wash my lettuce and herbs off, can I safely eat the produce?

These might be clover mites (see https://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/clover-mites). In any case, the edibility of your produce will not be affected by them; that is, safe to eat.
