We found clusters of these very tiny little egg looking things on our mulch in the flowerbed - can anyone tell us what they are? Are they something to be concerned about?
CLOSED: Hundreds of miniature eggs
Two possibilities come to mind:
1. A fungus of some kind
2. Animal (such as a raccoon) feces containing berry seeds.
So if it were a fungus, is it something I should try to get rid of and if so, how do I do that?
If it is a fungus, it would be nothing dangerous; just breaking down ('digesting') the mulch. Try poking at the objects with a sharp object and examine closely to see if there are any seeds therein; if so, that would make animal feces the more likely cause.
