I found this insect on my pepper plant today and have never seen one before. The white dot is just a shine from the lights. Don't know if this is the culprit that is eating my plant or if it eats other small bugs that are eating my plant. Appreciate any information on it.
CLOSED: Type of insect?
It's a beneficial lady beetle (family Coccinellidae); looks like the twice-stabbed lady beetle - Chilocorus stigma - see https://pbase.com/tmurray74/image/142933688 for an image. These feed primarily on aphids and other small, soft-bodied insects.
Thank you for your help!
