It's in the family Geometridae, a huge family with thousands of species. Their larvae are known as inchworms or loopers.

I was really hoping for something more specific; like, what are their fav host plants, and more pics of cats and exact moth.

I am not an expert in this family; there are quite a few different species having quite a similar color pattern so that making a specific i.d. from a single image is problematic at best.
