I live in Charlotte NC. I planted Jacobs Ladder last spring in the mostly shade and shady areas of my flower bed. By last fall the plants above ground were gone. Since it is a perennial, is there any chance the roots made it through the winter and will regenerate new plants this spring??
Jacobs Ladder planted spring 2018
I would think so for it is a herbaceous perennial so it dies back in the winter. It should be up and growing very soon for it blooms in spring. If it does not emerge soon, it is gone. Hopefully where you are it is not too hot or humid for them.
Here is a good article on them.
