I was wondering if egg cartons are a good idea for propagating succulents. My succulents went nuts this past summer and my husband wants me to look into the possibility of selling them next year to help make some money on the side (right now he is the only one that works and I am a stay at home mom). I was wondering if the cardboard egg cartons would be good for starting to propagate them? I don't want to invest a lot of money in pots just for there not to be a market in this area for them. Even if I don't sell them I love sharing them and would love to find a cheap way to get the plants to root before giving them to friends and family.
Also can you propagate in the winter? I bring my plants in for the winter and I know they are pretty much dormant. I didn't know that if a leaf falls off (like my jelly beans and donkeytails they fall off when you barely touch them) if they will take root?
I am still new to this garden stuff and succulents seem to be the ONLY thing I can keep alive and I really love them too!
Thanks for any help!
