What sort of fly?
Nice Wing Pattern
Boy - You sure can come up with some head-scratchers! It's a muscoid fly, but nearly all flies in that group have clear to translucent patternless wings. My best guess at present is that it is an oddball member of the family Muscidae - see https://diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=25685
