Hi everyone !
I recently encountered a spider in my bed room.
It was black-brownish in color and a bit bulky in size, about half inch long.
I really got scared, assuming it to be poisonous.
I applied a bug spray on it, as i was really frightened by it's appearance.
After about 2 seconds, little baby spiders started crawling out from it's back [about 20 to 30 of them]
The big spider struggled for a bit and died spewing out a white liquid from its behind.
Can anyone please tell me the species of the spider and what is the white liquid being spewed?
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks in Advance.
Wierd spider!
This is a wolf spider (family Lycosidae). They are not at all dangerous to humans and are valuable volunteer pest controllers. The white substance most likely was its intestinal contents.
