HELP!!!

Vidor, TX

Hi everyone!
I walked into my bathroom tonight to brush my teeth and found what initially appeared to dozens of pieces of dark-haired stubble all over the left side of my bathroom counter. Once I looked closer I realized that some were moving, and that they are TINY little larvae. They inch around in the style of inch worm caterpillars. They were only on the left side of my counter and only a few (3-4 max) were in the sink bowl. I have absolutely no idea where they came from and I am freaked out because it seems like they appeared out of nowhere. I keep a very clean house (especially now- my mother-in-law was just in town) and my drain doesn’t smell or anything. They were not concentrated around the sink drain or anywhere else that I could tell. Please help me if you have any idea what these are and how to get rid of them!

Thanks!

I would not worry over much about these; they most likely are newly hatched caterpillars from eggs that a moth laid somewhere in the room. This is a fairly common occurrence that happens when a female moth accidentally enters a building and cannot find her way back outside before she needs to lay her eggs. These larvae will gradually die of starvation because there is no food source (usually leaves of a tree or shrub) for them indoors. They will not infest or harm anything in your house.
