A couple of different creatures... I'm wondering if the wasp (or hornet) is an aggressive one that we should get rid of or can we safely leave it to continue building on the side of our camp. The body of the one is blurry but the face looking out of the nest is fairly clear. The other creature I have no idea.

The wasps appear to be a Vespula sp. (collectively called yellow jackets); these can be quite aggressive in defending their nest if disturbed. Usually, if it is more than a few meters from human traffic, they should stay put. The other bug is a broad-headed bug (family Alydidae) - https://www.mvtimes.com/2018/08/08/wild-side-broad-headed-bugs/

Thank you Flapdoodle for the information. We’re going to leave the nest alone as it is out of our way.
