I know it's a skipper, but not sure which one. I'm in NW NJ.

Looks like a grass skipper in the genus Polites; the long dash (Polites mystic) is a strong possibility - http://www.butterfliesofamerica.com/L/polites_m_mystic_live4.htm
But be aware that there are other species having a somewhat similar appearance...
