What type of bug is this?

I was wondering if some one could help me identify this bug. Is it a coach roach or a beetle? I saw a much smaller version of this one as well. Thank you!

This is a click beetle (family Elateridae). The larvae of some species (wireworms) can be garden pests, but the adult beetles do no harm.
