Let me start by saying I hope that it's okay that I post different creatures for identification in the one thread and also that it's okay that I'm doing it for general interest sake. I love bugs and want to know as much as I can about them...my friends say I'm weird but I'm okay with that haha.
This first couple of pictures are what's left of my mountain ash tree leaves and what I've found on them. I have no idea what they are and if they are a true pest or turn into something quite beautiful. They are not on any other trees in the vicinity, maples, amur cherry or decorative crab apple etc. The other two images are of a moth of some kind and a large bee like creature that has the coolest feet.
CLOSED: Identification please
First and third images show sawfly larvae, quite possibly the mountain ash sawfly (Pristiphora geniculate) - https://tidcf.nrcan.gc.ca/en/insects/factsheet/1000090
The fourth image is a fly in the family Tachinidae; it looks like a Tachina sp. - http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/63828570 All tachinids are parasitic on other arthropods, mainly other insects.
The fifth image is a moth in the family Geometridae; their larvae are known as inchworms, measuringworms, or loopers. This is a very large family with many species having a pattern that allows them to blend in with tree bark.
Thank you Flapdoodle, much appreciated.
