I have a new Jackson and Perkins rose bush..surreal is her name. She is planted in a large container on my deck. partly shaded in am sunny in afternoon. The leaves are turning yellow at base of the plant some leaves yellow in other areas. Just a few. But i am paranoid about black spot. I attached the photos so you can see how pretty she is.
I looked this up and found a website that gives the following advice.
"Water your roses either early in the morning or in the evening once the temps have started cooling off. Rinse the bushes off with good clean water after a hot day. Plus, the rinsing of the foliage helps wash off contaminants of the day that can lead to foliage burn or other problems like insects."
My problem with this advice is I live in Missouri and its very hot here. Black spot is easy to get and impossible to get rid of. i was told not to wet the leaves of a rose bush and this advice says the opposite. Can anyone help me?
My new rose bush has yellow leaves at bottom
