Brown recluse??

Johnson City, TN

Found this in the bathtub this morning. I live in the Charleston SC area. Is this a brown recluse? It looked close to me when looked up pics on the internet. Thank you for any insight!

The image is too dark to make out any markings. That aside, it's a male, and its palps do not look like those of a brown recluse, and if its legs have any stripes/bands, it definitely would not be a recluse.

It gives me the overall impression of a Brown Recluse. I've been bitten by one. I suggest buying some of those insect bombs at Walmart or wherever and setting them off in your house according to instructions. (Don't leave any pets, fish inside). You really want to get rid of them!

I played with the image in photoshop. Maybe Flapdoodle can have a better look.

Compare the appearance of the palps and legs in this image of a male recluse with that of the specimen in question - https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_recluse_spider#/media/File:Brown-recluse-2-edit.jpg

And thank you to those that replied. Obviously this is concerning. Even if bites are rare, with two little kids, this isn’t a problem I want to have. Looking at the geographic preference, I was hoping I wouldn’t have this problem.

As the spider now is dead, examine thefront of its head end and see if you can see the eye pattern. Recluse spiders have six (as opposed to the eight in most spiders) eyes; a triangular arrangement with two eyes at each corner - http://spiderbytes.org/2015/06/08/how-to-tell-if-a-spider-is-not-a-brown-recluse/
